Now there’s new hope for a life-altering condition. Growing evidence suggests stuttering is neurological, not emotional, as so many have thought. And help may soon be on the way. It is so hard when you try to get your words out.
I know how you feel. I feel like SHIT right now. I always think, why did God make me the way I am? I have OCD and stammering problems
i got over my stuttering by just trying not to stutter. its wierd cause im spanish and i tend to stutter more when i speak in spanish than english.
@rchaloune if by during songs you mean while you are singing, i am the same also, i can sing so fluently without a hint of a stutter, then when i come to speaking it’s horrible lol
I have trouble starting sentences and sometimes this causes me not to start them in the first place for fear of stammering on the first syllable.
Damn that’s a bad mix.. OCD and Stammering, I have full respect for you.
@pavillion22 you need to get over yourself you idiot. i stutter, its really bad i have word blocks i repeat word after word im lucky to get a sentence out. but really man, get a grip embrace who your are and accept it
I do not believe stuttering is just a neurological condition. It is a combination of psychological, physical and neurological factors that make up stuttering. There is also a lot of good help out there. For instance, Natural Therapy for Stuttering that can be found online is one of them. Aslo, each institution has a speech therapist.
i used to stutter a lot as a child, and didn’t much at all throughout my adolescence. however, now that i’m twenty, my stutter is getting really bad lately, so bad that my friends notice now. it’s turned into an ongoing joke among my circle. I don’t have a problem with jokes about it, but regardless, i want it stopped.
same here (:
@pavillion22 your not alone my friend, I also Stutter =/
@Charr3169
I am 31 and want my sttutter stopped as well!! I desperately want to speak normaly and regularly like everyone else.
Thinking about how I have never been able to speak in a clear way for others for all my life so far, or the fact I will not be able to express myself for the rest of my life is in fact very firghtening.
For very severe cases it’s the worst affliction ever to have. It scares me that I still can’t speak favorable and nothings being done to ease it.
@danielgirotto 1 out of every 10, sounds about right
@pimpfluid69 dude thats 1 of every 100, i don’t believe it
@danielgirotto i dont feel like doin math but idk how they even get those numbers….its like doing a census and not even counting the homeless
@ArrivaLaFranja21 – I st st stutter also. No, but seriously there are many things that can be done, just search.
Here up with the Pill porfavor =]
I have ADHD, OCD, and I am concerned that I have a stuttering problem. I stutter quite a lot.
Jesus I feel like mine is getting worse. I am 28 now. I also feel like I’m drunk all the time. What could it be? Any meds?
@imlonghearmeroar what helps me is to say some words in like: gi-ve me this um-bre-la…. the best cure is make yourself not thinking about how you say words…. but about the topic. let your brain do the talking.
I do not think stuttering is a neurological disorder. It is a disorder in living. There is help available. For instance, naturaltherapyforstuttering. -c-o-m that can be found online is one of them. There are also many good speech therapists
i stutter alot too and i have alot of anxiety issues too i need help and i dont know what to do please help me and other people out there
let the cure out in stores!!!! i stutter too i hate it!!!!
It’s great to hear that my suspicions have been confirmed.. I intuitively knew stuttering had biological origins, but until now, scientific research on it hasn’t been much publicized. I found a recent study that linked stuttering to a mutation in 3 genes – a wonderful relevation that will hopefully diminish the blame of responsiblitiy put on stutterers.
I am a severe stutterer myself; so much so, that I use a Text-to-Speech device to talk (because it’s faster).
When I stutter at nights I cry im 11 and I stuttered all my life At night I wish I was a person that never stutter At school I am known as the person who stutters
I have barely a friend they make fun of me I want to get home schooled when the teacher makes me read I stutter then she just asks another person to read I wish there was a cure…:((
@Honnesh1MD7595
That happens to me every time but I don’t laugh I cry at nights. but I don’t take a oral speaking class we don’t have one because all the people in my school dosn’t stutter but me.
